FOB 01: Conversation With Distinguished Teachers
Join our recent Distinguished Teaching Award winners for an afternoon of conversation about outstanding teaching. Join us on Tuesday, September, 23rd at 3:15pm. Our Distinguished Teachers will share what they have found to be the secrets to their teaching success then we will open the conversation to all. All four 2013 winners will on the panel: Daniel Hare, Program Coordinator, Criminal Justice; Julie Posey, Instructor, Biological and Physical Sciences; Mark Mitchell, Associate Professor, Automotive Technology; and Theresa Kegley, Annually Contracted Faculty, Mathematics.

Each year Columbus State recognizes four faculty for the Distiguished Teaching Award. Award winners are nominated by students and reviewed by a commitee of peers. Selections are based on evidence of excellence in teaching. Criteria for selection include:
- knowledge of and enthusiasm for the subject matter
- establishment of good rapport with students
- course organization and course content, and
- the use of a variety of instructional methods and materials in support of student learning.
