Course Description:

Ideas to Go! is a conversation series inviting employees to share knowledge, skills and ideas in an informal setting. A session host starts the discussion with a brief overview before moving to open conversation. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch, cup of coffee, news to share and, especially, your own curiosity and expertise. Want to host a discussion? Next session coming up:

Community college students face unique needs and obstacles including everything from homelessness to lack of transportation. Since September the office of Student Engagement and Leadership, along with the Columbus State C.A.R.E.S. committee, has been assessing the needs of Columbus State students and creating programs to help meet their needs. This is a campus wide issue that touches everyone including staff and faculty.

At the March meeting of “Ideas to Go” we would like to share what we have found and how we plan on addressing these matters, as well as brainstorm with fellow employees on how we can address the major issues our students face on a daily basis. We will also be discussing a new training for employees that we plan on launching in April, which will include a poverty simulation and compassion training. Together we can create a caring community.

Judah Gartman, Ohio Benefits Bank Coordinator, will lead the discussion.
